Greetings to all especially new members Molinda and Tiffany.

Great to see large numbers at last week`s social night at the Sports Club. I am sure everyone enjoyed
this fellowship. Plenty of discussions were seen to have been taking place. The life of our club !!

October is Rotary Health Month. A suggested fundraiser we could participate in is Lift the lid day
where members would wear a fancy bright hat to the meeting and make a donation to mental
health research.

An update on our interest in helping The Day Village at Helidon Spa. Interest in this project came
from a very passionate guest speaker Lu Graw who heads this group. The Day Village is a call in
support place for families with children who have difficulty fitting into normal school environment
and for parents who home school. Also for others who may need a bit of company or help with
organised activities. They have been helping up to 40 people and have recently shifted to a new
address at Helidon . Some members have visited there to investigate how we may be able to help
with renovations etc for their new house. We await information on what their Council requirements
are. Our board will have this item on their next agenda.

A request has been made for anyone wishing to be the next District Governor to make themselves
known.

As Rotary been invited to participate in Toowoomba Carols by Candlelight we have the opportunity
for one or two of our members to join the Carols Committee. A meeting at 5.30pm on Sept 28 at
Rumours is being held for interested people.

Would very much like to find a candidate for RYTS Camp Dec 6 to 12. This Rotary event is to help
school leavers transition to the next stage of life. See Bill for more info .

Please make welcome our new guests and help them to settle in, especially with Club Runner and
My Rotary

Word of the week is ENTERTAINMENT. In our busy lives we all need some of this. Also maybe ways
Rotary could provide some ENTERTAINMENT as a service to others.
Plenty of things to do in Rotary
Let's keep up our ENTHUSIASM

Cheers
Peter
